Course outline

Entry level and teaching arrangements

Entry level: CEFR A2 or above recommended; a four-skill diagnostic is completed on entry, along with a statement of your target band.
Course materials: IELTS foundation bridging materials, skill workbooks, speaking cue cards, a marked writing folder and mock papers.

Course outline

Four connected learning modules

The outline is organized by progression of ability. Teachers adjust the density of practice to how a class is doing, while stage goals and core content stay the same.

MODULE 01 · Diagnosis and language base

Weeks 1–3

Teaching content: Entry diagnosis, core vocabulary, complex sentences and a study plan.
Classroom tasks: Four-skill diagnostic; unpacking long sentences; setting up error categories
Homework and unit checks: Vocabulary review and long-sentence analysis; language foundations quiz in week 3

MODULE 02 · Listening and reading foundations

Weeks 4–6

Teaching content: Locating information, paraphrase, text structure and error analysis.
Classroom tasks: Practice by question type; scanning races; discussing why answers were wrong
Homework and unit checks: Intensive listening transcripts and reading review; listening and reading stage test in week 6

MODULE 03 · Speaking and writing foundations

Weeks 7–9

Teaching content: Developing answers, topic resources, paragraphing, charts and opinions.
Classroom tasks: Speaking simulation; paragraph reordering; describing charts; peer feedback
Homework and unit checks: Speaking recordings and writing drafts; speaking and writing stage test in week 9

MODULE 04 · Integrated practice

Weeks 10–12

Teaching content: Timed skills practice, a stage mock test, feedback and next-step planning.
Classroom tasks: Half and full mock papers; feedback interviews; agreeing what comes next
Homework and unit checks: Redo missed items, revise writing, re-record speaking

Assessment schedule

Assessment is spread across the term rather than saved for the end, so both teacher and learner can see progress while there is still time to act on it.

Week 1: four-skill entry diagnostic, not counted towards the final result.
Week 3: vocabulary, grammar and long-sentence comprehension quiz.
Week 6: listening and reading stage test.
Week 9: speaking simulation and a timed writing task.
Weeks 11–12: full mock, score analysis and an individual feedback interview.
The course is positioned as foundation bridging; no fixed score gain or target band is promised.
